Residency in Cyprus, 2024

A 3 week residency in Lefkara, a traditional lace-making village in the hills of southern Cyprus. Panayoitas taught lacemaking, a dying skill passed down from her grandmother through generations. A skill of patience. I explored mosaics as a response to evening walks around Lefkara, and visited George and Panagiotis’ silversmithing workshop to explore small-scale casting.

Thanks to Grampus Heritage and the Turing scheme who funded the residency as a cross-cultural exchange.
